Ashlynn Vickers, Therapist/Owner

Ashlynn is originally from the Birmingham area. She resides with her husband Lesley and young daughter Cora. In her free time, Ashlynn enjoys antiquing, reading, tending to her garden, cooking, collecting recipe books, coffee & sweets with friends, and game nights.

Ashlynn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling  from Liberty University. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has several years of  clinical, supervised experience working with adults, children, and families, including serving as an advocate for children.

As a therapist who offers Christian counseling, she believes that brokenness is a result of sin and ultimate healing comes from God; she believes she is only a vessel to help others through counseling practices. Ashlynn utilizes a prescriptive approach to therapy by quilting together integral pieces of therapy to fit each person's needs. There is similarity in the quilting process, but each quilt is different in the pattern and uniqueness of each client.

Different threads of therapy utilized are Attachment-Focused, Junigan Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, & Play Therapy. Ashlynn enjoys working with trauma in its many forms and is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) to treat trauma. Ashlynn believes EMDR therapy addresses the major components of different traumas and recognizes how trauma is stored in the body while desensitizing over-protective responses.
